Malatya - Atatürk House

Malatya Atatürk House was organized in the old Community Center building in 1981 and opened to visitors.

Atatürk came to Malatya twice. First; Upon the completion of the railway connecting Malatya to Adana at the beginning of 1931, Atatürk came to Malatya from Adana by train on 13 February 1931 and stayed in Malatya for one night. With the completion of the Sivas Malatya Railway in 1937, he came to Malatya from Sivas on November 14, 1937, made inspections and moved to Diyarbakır on the same day.

The old Turkish Hearth, where Atatürk stayed for one night when he first came to Malatya, then the two rooms on the ground floor of the Community Center Building were remodeled as Atatürk House in 1981. At the entrance, in the first room on the right, an embroidered coffee table was placed with the table and armchair that Atatürk used in the palace where he visited the Community Center. Atatürk's books are exhibited in the room to the left of the entrance.
