İstanbul - Atatürk's Death Room in Dolmabahçe Palace
The fourth room in the direction of the sea-facing section of the Dolmabahçe Palace, which is passed after the Examination Hall and is known today as (Private Apartment), is a museum with all its furniture, as a historical room where Atatürk passed away. This room was the winter bedroom of Abdülmecid and later Ottoman sultans. This room on the corridor connecting the two large halls of the Private Apartment has two doors and four windows. There is a bronze inlaid walnut bed, wardrobe and bedside table in the room where Atatürk lay. The room is furnished with carpets, sofa and armchairs. Its walls are covered with a light green paper decorated with stars and flowers. There is a linen embroidered white cover and a blue quilt on the walnut bedstead. The windows are with atlas curtains.
Atatürk was brought to this room on the night of 25-26 July 1938, after the days of discomfort on the Sayarona yacht, and the necessary treatments were started. Now this room was his last "residence" until his death. He died in this room at five past nine on November 10, 1938.
After Atatürk's death, this historical room of the Dolmabahçe Palace was preserved as Atatürk's Bedroom. Together with the Turkish Nation, in eternal mourning.
