Bursa Sultan's Mansion (Atatürk Mansion)

Hunkar Mansion was built as a hunting lodge in 1844 due to Abdulmecit Han's Bursa trip. The mansion was completed in a short period of 19 years. After Abdülmecid Han, the Ottoman sultans Abdulaziz Han and the 5th Mehmet Reşat were guests in the mansion.

Hünkar Mansion hosted the commanders of the War of Independence together with Atatürk for 12 days in 1922. Atatürk also visited the mansion during his visits to Bursa in 1925, 1931 and 1935. Atatürk's last visit to the mansion was on 16 July 1935.

Hünkar Mansion has been owned by the Metropolitan Municipality since 1947. It was last restored by Bursa Metropolitan Municipality in 1995 under the supervision of the Department of National Palaces.

Existing items were repaired in the restoration workshops of Dolmabahçe Palace and transformed into their original form. The mansion was called “Kasr-ı Hümayun”, “Kasr-ı Milli”, “Republican Mansion” and “Atatürk Mansion” over time.

It is 3396 square meters with its garden.

Hünkar Mansion bears witness to our history with its 160-year history. It started to serve as a museum on May 29, 2003. It is one of the rare examples of civil architectural structures in Bursa.

The pavilion was built in the French Empire style. The hand-drawn ornaments covering the ceiling surfaces are of artistic delicacy that fascinates people. The reception hall, Atatürk's bedroom, study room, the bedroom of his adopted daughters Sabiha and Ülkü Hanım, the dining room and other beauties make you feel the traces of the past experiences.
