Denizli Atatürk House and Ethnography Museum
Denizli Atatürk House and Ethnography Museum was organized in the old Dispensary building in the Uçancıbaşı District of Denizli and opened to visitors in 1984.
Atatürk, who came to İzmir on January 27, 1931, came to Denizli via Aydın-Denizli on February 4, 1961, upon the insistent invitations of the people of Denizli. He was greeted with enthusiastic demonstrations at Denizli Station at 13 o'clock, and he was the guest of the two-storey mansion, which was used as the "Fırka Building", where he would spend the night. After resting for a short time in the Mansion, Atatürk had lunch in Çamlık, Denizli's recreation area. Visiting some schools and the Hometown Hospital that afternoon, Atatürk attended the dinner given by Denizli Municipality in the evening, later came to the Mansion, spent the night, and returned to İzmir at 9:30 am the next day.
The pavilion, where Atatürk was a guest for one night, was later expropriated and used as a Tuberculosis Dispensary since 1950. In 1977, the Mansion was transferred to the Ministry of Culture to be built as Atatürk and Ethnography Museum. The mansion, which was repaired until 1983, was opened to visitors as a museum in 1984.
Two rooms on the ground floor of the museum were reserved for the office, and the big room was furnished as the "Denizli House". In the middle of the room, there is a wide-lined table, a barbecue, ottomans, cupboards and stoves on the windowsill, and carpets on the walls. Atatürk's bedroom was arranged on the upper floor, with a sofa, wardrobe, desk and cot. On this floor, Denizli Sanjak, which was opened in the enthusiastic meeting at the Bayram site during the years of the National Struggle, is displayed. In Denizli and this region, Babadağ hand-wovens and looms, as well as carpets, kilim samples, manuscript books, and showcases are located on the walls. Atatürk's photographs are also exhibited in the Atatürk corner.
