After giving the order for the Great Offensive, Atatürk came to the Şuhut District of Afyon Province on August 24, 1922 from Akşehir and used a house belonging to the Sons of Hacıveli in the Yalı District as a temporary headquarters. In the evening of that day, Atatürk, who had a meeting in this house with his friends, reviewed the attack plans, and retired to his room after the meeting that lasted until late hours. Atatürk, who rested and slept here for a few hours, moved to Kocatepe in the morning and started the Great Offensive with artillery fire at 05:30 on 26 August 1922.
This house where Atatürk stayed is a small village mansion with two floors and a bay window. It has 4 rooms opening to the hall on the lower floor, 1 living room, 4 rooms and a men's room on the upper floor. Atatürk worked and rested in the bay window on this floor. Today, the house belongs to Ahmet Koç and is among the "houses that need protection".
