History: An international competition was planned for the construction of the monument. However, there is no definite information about the way the monument was pored. The construction of the pedestal began on May 23, 1946, with the laying of the first mortar by the Governor at a ceremony.
Description: The monument consists of two parts, a pedestal and a statue. In this monument, Atatürk is depicted sitting upright on a rearing horse, wearing a field marshal uniform and a cloak on his back. With his left hand, he grasped the horse's reins tightly. His right hand is at the pocket of his trousers. It can be said that Atatürk, with his stance and attire, carries the identity of the victorious commander in this monument.
