Staff Colonel Mustafa Kemal in the Dardanelles Wars. (1915)

CAR PURCHASED FROM THE AMERICAN EMBASSY IN CANAKKALE

Cevat Abbas Gürer explains:

After Anafartalar, the name of Mustafa Kemal began to spread. As soon as he saw me at İsmail Hakkı Pasha, he would ask my commander about his temper, water, spiritual condition and military service. Recently, he acknowledged that he would be a strong rukn (nobody) in the field of politics and decided to be sincere friends with Mustafa Kemal.

The late İsmail Hakkı Pasha, who dismissed everyone with the answer of "no"; He would go to the immediate execution of Mustafa Kemal's official demands.

In fact, a car was requested for the Group Command in Anafartalar and I was assigned to follow up on this job.

There were no cars to be bought (purchased) in Istanbul that December.

He had promised me, "Wherever you find a car, I will buy it", and I found a closed luxury car hidden in the garage of the American Embassy, with reference to the military police officers. He bought it immediately, and I had added an open car, fresh out of repair, to my commander's wish.
