TO WORK
« Our first job is to make the nation hardworking. »
January 1923, Speech to Journalists.
« We don't need anything, we only need one thing; to be hardworking. If we investigate our social ills, we will not discover any other serious disease than this. So, our first job is to treat this disease in a fundamental way. It is to make people hardworking. Wealth and its natural result, prosperity and happiness, are the right of only hardworking people. »

FARMER
« Friends, there are two means of victory in the world. One is the sword, the other is the sling… True victory is not with the sword, but with the sling. The means of relocating the nations in their homeland and giving stability to the nation is the sling, it is not like a sword. It gets stronger as it is used… While the Turkish farmer used his sword with one hand, the slingshot in his other hand did not leave the ground. If the majority of our nation were not farmers, we would not exist on earth today. »
16.03.1923, Conversation with Adana Farmers.
«... The farmer and shepherd are the basic elements for this nation. However, other elements are necessary and useful for this basic element. But we should know without any delusions that if that basic element is not present, the other elements do not exist. »
16.03.1923, Conversation with Adana Farmers.
« …Our country is the homeland of two things: one is the farmer, the other is the soldier. We are a nation that produces very good farmers and very good soldiers. We have raised good farmers: because we have many lands, we have trained good soldiers: because there are many enemies defecting to those lands. You are the ones who plow those lands and protect those lands… »
18.03.1923, Talking to Farmers in Tarsus.
« The main subject of the state, which must be done in our country, is farming. It is not good to be a consumer, let's be a producer! »
24.08.1925, A Speech in Kastamonu.
« ...For one thing, landless farmers should not be left in the country. What is more important than this is that the land that can support a farmer's family becomes indivisible for any reason or way. It is necessary to limit the width of the land that large farmers and ranchers can operate according to the population density and soil fertility of the country where the land is located.
