Hasankale, 2 October 1924,  There Can Be No Revolution With Circular"

It was in the spring of 1924. The houses of many villages in Erzurum and Pasinler were destroyed in the earthquake. Gazi Mustafa Kemal, who came to Pasinler to meet with the injured people, called an old villager from among the people:

-“Did you suffer much from the earthquake, father?” Asked. Seeing the old man's doubt, the ghazi asked again:

"How many liras the government gives you, can you cover the loss?" Old:

"Valle pedisheh knows," he said. Gazi smiled. In a soft voice:

-“Father, there is no sultan; Didn't you remove them?"

"Tell me, what's the harm?"

-“The Padishah knows...” Ghazi, frowning at this answer, turned to the District Governor:

"You haven't spread the revolution yet," he said. Meanwhile, to Gazi, the editor-in-chief, who put forward the solemnity typical of people who have accomplished their task:

"We sent a circular to the villages, Pasha," he said. Gazi's stormy face was more confused:

-“My son, there can be no revolution with a circular!”
