Mustafa Kemal Pasha at Sabiha Hanım Girls' Sample School

Mustafa Kemal Pasha spent the day of 20 June 1922 with some acceptances and rest, and visited the Wood Factory around four o'clock in the afternoon. Mustafa Kemal Pasha, who carefully examined all parts of the factory, expressed his satisfaction, and the workers and officials welcomed this visit with joy.

Mustafa Kemal Pasha visited Sabiha Hanım's girls' school at 6 o'clock in the evening of the same day and attended the tea banquet held in her honor on the occasion of the cooking class exam. Notables of Adapazarı and retired Faik Bey, one of Mustafa Kemal Pasha's former mathematics teachers, were present at the banquet.

A lady who lived through those days in person: "When we learned that Atatürk was going to visit our school, we, the teachers, prepared cakes and donuts, etc. Atatürk came with a crowd of people including the District Governor and the Mayor. They toured the school with our then-mistress, Şehime Hanım. They participated in the tea-cake conversation. They talked with us for a long time. Atatürk had a photo taken with us. I think this photo hangs in Sabiha Hanım Primary School .

At the tea feast, the students read poems and offered cakes prepared by themselves. Mustafa Kemal Pasha was very pleased with the order he saw at school.

Tevhide Yerlikara, the sister of Mevlude Zaim and then the 6th grade student of the school, also tells the following.

"We were students when Atatürk came to our school. I also came out of the profile in the photograph taken. Atatürk's mother, Zübeyde Hanım, was staying at Hasan Cavid's house across from the Station. Atatürk's arrival in a very crowded community; hugging and kissing his mother (Zübeyde Hanım). "I remember it like today. Then I watched him greet the people from the balcony. The day they said that Atatürk would return, a terrible storm broke out. The trees fell at the station. Atatürk could not go that day."

There is also a photograph documenting this visit in Vakit Newspaper dated 24.6.1922 . There are Mustafa Kemal Pasha, Chief Aide Salih, Major Şükrü Bey, headmistress Şenime Yümnü Hanım, school teachers Meliha, Leman and Hamiyet Hanımlar in the photograph. Anadolu'da Yenigün Newspaper (23.6.1922) records Sabiha Hanım's school as the most beautiful and cleanest school in İzmit liva.
